About the Chew

This style of chew is cut from the tines of a Red Stag antler. The tines are the part of the antler that comes out of the beam of the antler. The outer edge of a Red Stag antler is dense, but the center contains a soft marrow. This combination provides a great all purpose chew. The dense outside provides hours of chewing time, while the soft marrow is the reward that your dog will look forward too.
About The Deer

Originally from Europe, Red Deer (distant cousins of the North American Elk) are now inhabitants of 6 continents, and widely known as a popular game species. Back during the days of the Roman Empire, Red Deer were used to pull wagons and cars in the festivals honoring Diana, the goddess of hunting. Every year, Red Deer males (more commonly known as Red Stags) grow antler for protection from predators, as well as establishing dominance with other males during breeding season. At the end of winter, when breeding season is over, the males naturally shed their antlers to get ready to grow new ones for next year.

Disclaimer

Sheds are like fingerprints. They all have the same general shape, but the details are very different. Although the picture shows a general idea, the color and shape will vary.

Dogs should be supervised while they are chewing their antler. When it gets worn down small enough to swallow, we advise that you throw it away.
